JOIN WPDC’S LEGISLATIVE WORK:
Interested in getting involved with the fight for public power in the District? Sign our Public Power Pledge to express your support for putting people over profit and creating a fair and equitable energy system in DC.
We Power DC is pressuring our elected officials to sign onto the Pledge – you can use this form to write a letter to your Councilmember urging them to sign the Pledge. We’re also working to elect Councilmembers who support public power. Join our weekend canvasses to get Ward 5 candidate Zachary Parker elected to DC Council – fill out this form to get more information about upcoming canvassing opportunities.
Once we have further support on the Council, we’ll be working with Councilmembers to write and pass legislation to create a public electric utility in DC that is democratically controlled and directly accountable and transparent to all consumers, utility workers, and those most impacted by climate injustice in the District.
Interested in finding out more about WPDC’s legislative working group or coming to a meeting to learn how to get involved? Email wepowerdc@gmail.com to sign up for a 1:1 chat with an organizer, or fill out our sign up form linked here.
CANVASS WITH US!

We’re talking to residents about greener, cheaper public power! If you’re interested in helping DC residents understand the grid, their utility bill, and the possibility of a better system, email us at wepowerdc@gmail.com.
